What steps do we need to take now to build a more peaceful future – for ourselves, our local communities and the wider world? What challenges and opportunities does the ‘digital age’ bring for peace-making and peace-keeping? We talk about ‘cyber warfare’ but can we visualise ‘cyber peace-keeping’? How might climate change affect the ways we understand and build peace? And what conversations do we need to have about peace in space, as that domain becomes increasingly commercialised and weaponised? This ‘room’ in our museum contains items that invite us to think about the problems and solutions which the next generation of peace-builders might need to wrestle with, from the long-lasting trauma of current conflicts to the ongoing fight for women’s rights, to peace-building efforts that connect to care for the environment, to legal mechanisms for ensuring peace in space.
